Demetrice Jackson was born July 26, 1951 to Thomas and Mary Jackson. The 4th of their 15 children passed away Saturday May 22, 2021.
A precocious youngster, Jackson became a master brick mason by the age of 10, learning the trade alongside his brothers from their father.  The Jackson family has left it's fingerprint on several of Birmingham's landscape and neighborhoods.
A standout football player at Wenonah High School, Jackson went on to become captain of the Lincoln University (MO) football team. Where the Blue Tigers won a share of the 1971 MIAA Championship. Affectionately known to his teammates as "Sweet Stan" Jackson had the rare distinction of playing every defensive snap during his Hall of Fame tenure.
Following his college career, Jackson was invited to camp with the Washington Redskins and New York Jets of the NFL, and found a home at Legion Field with the Alabama Vulcans.

Jackson is survived by his sons Demetrice (Tracy) Dante (Erin) Christopher, and daughters Demesha (Milton) and Mary Elizabeth.  Grandchildren Trezmond, Brittany, Jordan Demetrice, Dante, Eric, Christian Isaiah, Khloe, Chrishawn, and Nikki.

Demetrice was such a nice person when he was at Wenonah High School in the graduating Class of 1969. He loved to have fun. It saddened us when we heard our classmate had passed on. Rejoice in Heaven.
