Obituary

October 22, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister, Denice Marshall, at the age of 63 surrounded by her loving brother and two sisters, Denice passed peacefully on October 18, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of San Jose, California after a struggle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

A memorial service for Denice was held at 2:00PM Saturday November 1st 2014 at the Newark California Moose Lodge at 6940 Rich Ave. Newark, CA

Denice started her work life at Music Unlimited in San Leandro CA before moving on to Royal Glass Co. in Mountain View, where she was fortunate to make lifelong friends.  In 1985, she began a long career as the Bookkeeper for Marina Plumbing where she remained until her retirement in 2011.  Denice was lucky to add more long lasting relationships from her time at Marina.

A loyal and active member of the Women of the Moose for over 30 years, Denice thoroughly enjoyed working with her fellow lodge members to plan events and fundraisers and could always be counted on to go the extra mile to ensure that they were successful.  A 1969 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Fremont, Denice was very involved in the class’s reunion planning until her move to Michigan in 2012.

Denice loved to travel and was truly blessed to find herself amongst friends who encouraged this desire.  A lover of all things Disney, she enjoyed her enthusiasm for Disneyland with her nieces and nephews, and was thrilled to create lifelong Disney fans of the next two generations.  Christmas was Nece’s favorite time of year and our family Christmases will never be the same.

Denice was a loving daughter, sister, Aunt and friend.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rest in Peace Nece.  Pass along hugs to Mom and Dad.

Denice is survived by her two sisters, Janet Warren of Milpitas CA, and Rhonda Helenihi, of Livermore, CA and her brother Bruce Marshall of San Diego, CA as well as three nephews (Joel Warren of Milpitas, CA Derek Helenihi of San Ramon, CA and Drew Helenihi of Livermore, CA) and two nieces (Amy Campbell of Valley Springs, CA and Kristi Conley of Cameron Park, CA).
