Doris Mae Kreikemeier was born on May 29, 1929, near Dodge, NE to John and Lena (Dirkschneider) Mendlik. She attended Sacred Heart Academy at Olean and graduated from Dodge High School in 1947.

On May 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Dennis Kreikemeier at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dodge, NE. The couple lived on a farm north of Snyder until 1994, when they built a new home and moved into West Point.

Doris was a charter member of the Snyder V.F.W. Auxiliary, belonged to Christian Mother’s, was a guild member at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Snyder and currently belonged to those organizations in West Point.

She loved to play golf, cards, gardened, and she was an excellent seamstress, sewing each of her daughter’s wedding gowns and all of the attendant dresses. She also made a quilt for each of her children and 40 grandchildren.
