This memorial was created in memory of my father, Dennis Mitchell, who passed away at 75 years old.

Dennis Everett Mitchell, 76, of Middletown, passed away Friday evening February 15, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Middletown, CT son of Edward W. Mitchell and Evelyn D. Mitchell.

Dennis grew up in Middletown and graduated Woodrow Wilson High School in 1964. He married Linda Lineberry and gave birth to one son, Jason. They were married for 19 years. Though divorced, Linda and Dennis stayed friends. He worked for many years driving school bus for Dattco, and for Middletown Area Transit driving transit bus for the town. He was widely known by his nickname Mitch, and liked by all. In his younger years, he enjoyed painting, bowling, and shooting pool. Later in life he was an avid movie collector. He loved to tell jokes, and always had a great sense of humor, even near the end of his life. Family was always the most important thing, and his grandchildren meant the world to him. He was a great father, grandfather, and human being. The world knew him as Mitch, but we knew him as Grandpa. He will be forever loved, and missed.

Dennis is survived by his only son Jason Mitchell, and his grandchildren Corbin and Odin. He is predeceased by his father Edward, mother Evelyn, brothers Edward and William, and sister Patricia.

A graveside service will be held by the family at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill at a future date to be announced. If you would like to attend, leave a voicemail with or text your contact information to Jason 860-268-1966.

Denny was my cousin and lived up the street on Hotchkiss St. in Middletown. As we got older we would hang out at McDonalds. Denny had an infectious laugh and was always fun to be with. Although we drifted apart in later life, I will always remember him as fun loving and a great guy.
He'll be missed.
