A native of Columbus, Mr. Senior was the son of the late Johnny and Catherine Smith Senior.

He was a retired Brick Mason and a very devout member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, serving with the Deacon's Ministry and as Sunday School Superintendent Emeritus. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Lewis Senior, Gynsol Senior and Ethel Mosley.

Surviving are a devoted wife of 60 years, Mrs. Mary M. Senior; two daughters, Denise S. Stanley(Reginald) and Rosiland S. Harris(John); two sons, Winthrope E. Senior and Melvin L. Senior; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren; two brothers, Johnny Senior, Jr., and Edward Senior(Bernita); two sisters, Rosa Hegeman(Garnett) and Barbara J. Holland; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Carswell and Sara Rozier; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
