Wow, Dennis the tall, fast guy... I am so sorry to you, the family. it's been years of being out of touch, but I suppose better to leave my condolences late rather than never.

I have always remembered you, Dennis; even though we never really spoke. It was in the way you kept your sister from us by your sheer piercing look (in our minds, of course); and we knew no one messed up around her as long as you live!

A legacy, you have created, a legend is what you are. If there was ever a man I followed with abated awe, you were one of those. I am sure your work here was done; your race finished and your price bequeathed.

Rest easy now, rest... You shall be there to welcome your dears in due course; to show them around the mansions and ride with lions. Rest well...

We all have a bank full of memories that assure us that you live with us, now and forever. I rode a bike the other day and I remembered the tips you gave me when I was learning how to cycle. Forever missed Denno.

APPRECIATION: DENNIS WASONGA ODONGO

It has been nearly 2 years since Dennis went to sleep never to wake up again.

It has been a tough time for the family and we did not know we would pull through this. We have had previous close encounters with death, but for some reason, this one was a big blow.

It hurt us deep and at a time when we eagerly looked forward to many happy years with him.

Our world as we knew it was shattered into a million pieces, leaving us bruised and scarred.

Each of us had our private expectations for his life and we felt robbed.

We therefore could not have managed to give him the beautiful send off that was on 14th June 2014 without the emotional and financial support of our friends, his friends and relatives.

We are truly overwhelmed by the messages of condolence, physical presence and the encouragement we have received during this trying time.

We also appreciate the material and emotional support of his friends, past and present classmates, team-mates and co-workers despite their own loss. We acknowledge that each of you felt a personal blow by his sudden demise, yet you took the time to comfort us. We are grateful to Dennis for the ways in which he touched your lives, thus bringing you closer to us.

We cannot forget the cooperation, contribution and support of our relatives and members of the various committees who took it upon themselves to ensure that Denno's send off was without hitches.

We understand that many of our friends and relatives would have loved to attend the farewell in person but were unable due to different circumstances. Your messages through the social media channels were comforting, and we are certain Denno would have appreciated them.

We remember Dennis Wasonga Odongo each day, for he still lives on in our hearts. We shall never forget him. We will eventually overcome grief and hold on to the memories. He is immortalized in our thoughts, the principles by which he lived which we shall aspire to continue, the zeal for life and the friendships and connections he has given us during and after his life with us.

We are encouraged that he is in a better place. We have hope that we shall one day meet in paradise. We are grateful to God for the time He allowed us to know and love Denno, and declare that it was not in vain. We each have learnt something from our time with him that we shall cherish as he did really enrich our lives.

We as a family are able to forge on with life with this renewed hope because of the strength that you all have lent to us this month. We cannot fully repay you for your kindness, save to pray that God shall bless you all abundantly.

Thank you being there with us in person, in spirit, in prayer, in communication and financially. Thank you and may God richly bless you.

The Odongo's Family.

One day at a time.

You were there for me on one of the most important milestones in my life. Because you were there, I felt safe, less stressed and confident. Little did I know it was the last I would see of you. I miss you, I wish you were here. I know that you are in a better place, and this gives me comfort. I thank God for giving me the privilege of being your sister.
