Dennis William Gorton, 66, a resident of Granville County passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, the son of the late Norman Charles Gorton and Frances Recendes Gorton. He was of the Catholic faith and worked in the concrete business for many years.

A private service will be held at a later date.

Surviving are three daughters; Kathy G. O’Brien of Oxford, Denise Gorton of Oklahoma, Christina G. Ryan of Louisiana, a son, Dennis Gorton, Jr. of Oklahoma, two sisters; Debbie Bloszko of Connecticut and Ann Travis of Fayetteville, a brother, David Gorton of Connecticut, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Andrews and two brothers; Richard and Ronald Gorton.
