Derrick  Graves was born on May 9, 1987. Derrick attended the Greensville County School System. At an early age he joined the Prayer Band House Of Joy of Weldon, NC where he loved to sing Oh Happy Day.  He was a loving farther, son, brother, nephew and cousin.

He touched so many in the community. If you knew him, you would have loved him. He always kept you laughing.

Derrick departed this life on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at  Southside Regional Medical Center in Emporia,VA.

Derrick leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Se’dasha Nichole Graves of Emporia, VA; his mother, LeJeane Arrington of Gaston, NC; step-father, Antonio Arrington OF Gaston, NC; his grandmother,  one sister, Jasmine Drummond of Gaston NC; four brothers, Michael Price of Gaston, NC, LeRay Dixon of New York, Elon Roy of Charlotte, NC, Devont’e Forbes of Richmond, VA. He also had a special friend, Jason Wright.
