Devell Reed

Mr. Devell Reed was born on August 31, 1943 to the late Mrs. Clara Toomer and the late Mr. William C. Reed in Savannah, GA.

On February 12, 1978, he was united in holy matrimony to Ola Mae Rivers. At an early age, he confessed Christ and later reunited and joined Mallard Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church.

Mr. Devell Reed had a passion for driving 18 wheelers for 45 years until he retired in 2003. At his other passion was the love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jacoby O’Bryan Nobles.
On Sunday, September 28, 2014, Mr. Devell Reed departed his life. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Ola Mae Reed, Midway, AL; five children, Tabatha (Antonio) Reed, Midway, AL, Devell (Cassandra) Reed, Dallas, TX, Demetries (Stephanie) Rivers, Midway, AL, Jeffery (Kivondra) Rivers, Montgomery, AL and Xavier (Keba) Reed, Troy, AL; two brothers, Willie Reed and Charles Reed, both of Tampa, FL; a devoted mother-in-law, Susie A. Rivers, Midway, AL; two brothers-in-law, Wardell Rivers and Conell Rivers, both of Midway, AL; fourteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a very special person he called his second daughter, Cassandra Bethune; a God-daugher, Marissa Stewart; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends including three close friends, Edward Miles, Benny (Betty) Whitehead and Tony King.
