Originally when I met Devin, he didn't want to go to college. Later on though, he decided he wanted to be a chef or at least to attend cullinary school. He told me he cooked for himself and his Mom. He seemed to enjoy that. Unfortunately, his first job was for a restaurant, but the day he was to start there, the restaurant was sold off and he was no longer needed. It kinda seemed like that put a real damper on Devin's enthusiasm for cullinary school or the food industry.

When he eventually told me he no longer wanted to cook for a living, he let me know he'd decided that he wanted to become an architect. I was pleased with this news. Devin was so gifted in so many areas that would have applied well to the vocation of architect. He could spacially visualize things. He also demonstrated excellent logic skills in the things he would create for Little Big Planet. He was such an intelligent boy.

Devin would have been an amazing architect. I only wish I'd gotten to see the fruit of his many talents.

Wolf

April 30, 2014

Devin loved having Wolfe as his last name. In the gaming community, he even belonged to a group of people that were fans of wolves or also named a variant of Wolf which were called wolf packs. He often hung out with his "pack" online.

In the game, DC Universe Online, his character he created even had the ability to turn into a dog.

I miss Devin so much. Everything about him was so creative. I was truly blessed to be able to have him in my life.

Painting again

April 26, 2014

So I tweaked the painting some more. Probably gonna be an ongoing process for a while, but I do get more happy with it each time.

Muse

April 22, 2014

Devin loved Muse. I can't stand them ...but I was happy to accompany Devin through as many Muse related Little Big Planet worlds as he wanted. Some of 'em were really well done ...even if the music was awful. lol. If you guys can think of a Muse song that would be appropriate for the site, I'd be happy to add it here.

Wish I could be touring Little Big Planet with him now...

If anyone wonders why I picked the piano you see on the cover page for this site for Devin, it's 'cause I know how much he loved his keyboard.

In these past years, Devin and I kind of stopped talking as much. I guess it's true that you don't know what you had until it's gone. I have him added on Facebook too... I can't believe that I never stopped and took the time to tell my little brother that I love him. We had so much fun together for many years, playing on Playstation Home and taking and texting. I never once thought that I would never get the chance to talk to him again- He was always there. He was way too young to go. I Love you, Devin. And I will miss you everyday. </3

The Furry

April 20, 2014

Devin and I were in Japan Home one day... I was showing him some things left over from Japan's April Fool's event. There was a castle and lots of magical beasts. Many half man - half beast creatures. In fact, as part of the event, you became one of them.

Around about that time I believe, there was an episode of CSI that dealt with fetishists called "furries". People that dress up as animals. Apparently, and this is only my guess really, the hilarity of this must have been the subject of many conversations at the high schools. Devin had mentioned furries in our conversations before.

Back to Japan Home... while at this castle filled with beast-men, Devin was running  around exploring it. There was one fallen beast man nearby. Oh, I forgot to mention that there was some sort of battle going on. He wasn't just taking a little nap. Anyway, Devin discovered the hapless soul and called me over to him. As I neared the spot, Devin called out "Dave! I found a furry!". I laughed so hard at that. Its a memory I'll never forget. Devin was always making me smile in so many ways.

Devin's avatar isn't in that pic, but that is me as a fishman on the castle to give you some idea.

made some painting adjustments

April 19, 2014

Think it looks a wee bit better.

painting

April 19, 2014

I've uploaded a painting I did for Devin in the sidebar. Now that I see it from a distance, I realize it needs a lot of work still. So sorry, Devin. I'll fix it if I can.

April 19, 2014

I had communicated with Devin two days before he left us, but I live in Alabama while he lived in Oklahoma. I had no idea of what transpired on March 6th. I tried repeatedly to get a response from Devin. I sent him Birthday wishes on his birthday, April 6th, with no realization that Devin had already been gone a full month. I didn't find out about his leaving this world until April 14th. I created this memorial site for him on April 18th. Please bear with me. My sorrow and pain have had no time to dull.

I met Devin online nearly 5 years ago. He was being harrassed by some people in
"Playstation Home" because he didn't know how to perform a glitch (An exploit that allows you to do things that were never intended within the computing/gaming world. This is not the same as hacking. For instance, the glitch in this story refers to the ability in a virtual world to get up on top of a bench and stand when it was intended that you only ever be allowed to sit on it.). Even though I knew nothing of this kid, unable to just watch people treat him unjustly for merely being new to the game, I sent him a private message telling him how to achieve his goal. Being the gaming genius that he was, he promptly showed them he didn't need their help. Afterward, Devin sent me a message and befriended me.

As we began to hang out and spend time together in that virtual world,  it became obvious this was an especially bright and clever boy. He was also a caring person. Ultimately, our friendship became the best part of my days and evenings. His absence leaves me with a hole I don't even want to fill. There is no replacing this most special person. He was as dear to me as anyone in my life.

Without question, I will forever miss you, Devin.
