He was born November 6, 1949 in Columbus, GA to the late Theodore R. and Emma Mae Thomas.

Dewey is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dewey Tyrone and Talisha Renea Thomas of Columbus; a daughter, Danna Terra Thomas of Columbus; five grandchildren, Tiberius Tryonne Thomas and Asiah Nekole Thomas, both of South Carolina, Raven Michelle Thomas and Letaevia Renea Thomas, both of Columbus, Kerry Levert Senior, Jr. and his wife Durriyyah Harrell of Fort Riley, Kansas; and one great grandchild, Kamari L. Senior of Fort Riley, Kansas; a sister and brother-in-law, Prince Anna and James Allen Thomas, III of Severn, MD; two great aunts, Callie B. Williams of Detroit, MI and Christine King of Columbus, GA; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents,
