Dewey Eugene "Gene" Chambers was born the oldest son of George Dewey Chambers and Mary Cornelia Beck Chambers. He is preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Jerry Dean Chambers. He is survived by brothers Michael Davis Chambers, and Gerald David Chambers, sister Mary Lorraine Chambers, son Michael Jason Meeks and by grandson Jake Meeks.

Dewey attended Towers High School in DeKalb County. He was a skilled carpenter and fine cabinetry craftsman for many years in the greater Atlanta area. He loved the outdoors and had a special love of dogs and horses. He also had a lifelong love of motorcycles and cycling.

Family and friends will remember Dewey as a big man with a big personality who could be charming or alarming by turns. He was rarely at peace with himself or others in this life. We wish him full measure of peace in the next one.
