Diana Mae Vice was born on August 3, 1942 to John and Viola (Lass) Schreck in Florence, NE.  She grew up in Crowell, NE and attended country school near Scribner.  On July 26, 1957, Diana married DeVerle Smidt and the couple later divorced.  Diana worked at Campbell Soup prior to moving to Omaha and married Gary Vice they later divorced.  She settled in Scribner where she had various jobs including cooking at Good Samaritan Center, and doing custodial work for the City of Scribner and the Post Office.  She was a hard worker and took on whatever jobs she could. She was well known for her potato salad and pan-fried chicken.
