Diane Freeman of Birmingham, AL was born July 1st, 1954 to the late Joseph and Janie Freeman.

She confessed Christ at an early age to New Pilgrim Baptist Church then later joined Union Bethel Christian Church.

She was educated in the Birmingham School System, attending Washington Elementary, Ullman and A.H Parker High School.

For many years she worked in administration and recreational activities with the Birmingham Housing Authority. She soon discovered her passion of interacting and mentoring kids. She later served as a teacher’s aide and counselor at Fairview Elementary School, Camp Fire West Boys and Girl Club and Kids World Daycare.

Diane, a natural born caregiver and an amazing cook, will truly be missed by those whose had the pleasure of meeting her and even more by those she loved the most.

Diane was preceded in death by sisters Betty Dates, Mona, Peggy Porter, Harriett Freeman and brother Harold Freeman Sr.

Her wonderful memories will be cherished by her devoted husband Robert Lam; two daughters, Tanita Stinson and Janiece Freeman of Birmingham, AL; one son Courtney Freeman of Birmingham, AL; two sisters Linda Freeman of Birmingham, AL, Sue Osmond (Julian) of Nashville Tennessee; four brothers Joseph (Priscilla) Freeman, Columbus, Ohio, George (Diantha) Freeman, Akron, Ohio, Tyrone Freeman, Las Vegas, Nevada and Isaac Freeman, Columbus Ohio; one sister-in-law, Harriett Freeman; eight grandchildren, James, Jayson, Torrence, Ayden, Karsyn, Courtlynn, Teigan and JaBria; and a host of relatives and friends.

Im so sorry for your loss, I just found out yesterday, 2-20-20.  I'm so heartbroken.  I always turn toward her house to see if I would see her.  My son Enrique Salgado and Leslie Salgado had her at Trinity Lutheran Child Care.  My kids are now adults and have always loved her, especially my son, long funny story.... I will truly miss her laughter and smile.
