Dick was never at a loss for adventure. We knew he was also a "clothes horse" One Sunday the phone rang , it was Dick excitedly saying he had just learned of a great deal where we could buy two Italian made suits for the price of one and he would pick me up in 20 minutes. Dick, I said, I don't need any suits. "Yes you do  dum dum, I'v seen your suits and you need new stuff, this is a great deal and we can't miss it, I'll be there in 10 minutes, just be ready" Sure enough, off we went to Suit City Warehouse in Orange County, where they guaranteed you would look the  prosperous gentleman in their suits. 
Dick tried on six suits bought two, I tried on two and bought two. On the way home Dick almost turned back to buy two more suites but we were short on funds.
Next week, at a business lunch in my new suit the fine Italian made beauty began to fall apart  when I stepped to the mens room and ended up with the fly zipper unraveling in my hand. I called Dick later and asked how his suits worked out. "Great although the shoulder did rip open, but I love the material"
After that episode our friend Joe Warren and I settled on a saying that stuck with Dick; "Always in charge, never in doubt, seldom right"  I will miss the adventures with Dick.   Jack Giacomini
