Dion Parlade Kerns Sr, 50, of Colorado Springs, Colorado,

Passed away peacefully on Sunday Feb 16, 2014. Born in Jacksonville Florida to the late Kendall and Vivienne Kerns. He shared his life with his friends and family when he lived in the Philippines, Clearfield Utah, Cortez Colorado, Las Vegas Nevada and Minot North Dakota, but he always considered Colorado Springs his home.

Dion was a genuine, compassionate, loving, Christian man. He had an indomitable optimism, a wonderful sense of humor, and always had a smile to share even during his toughest challenges. He had a kind, caring heart, was passionate about life, and had the ability to make anyone feel special. He never hesitated to lend a hand or to cater any event. During his spare time, Dion enjoyed watching the Broncos, playing billiards, and a good practical joke.

Dion loved spending time with his family and was an extremely loving and proud father to his children, Dion Kerns Jr, Annie Kerns, Faith Kerns and Jeff Kerns. He is also survived by his siblings Butch Parlade, Rochelle Oleksuk, JD McGinley, Ilene Martin-Hall, Kenneth Kerns, Eugene Kerns and Cedric Kerns; and by his wife Wendy Kerns and her children Tim Campbell, Tiffany Campbell and Malachi Campbell.

Services for Dion will be held on Thursday Feb 27th 2014 at 2:00 pm at

Saint James Church
