The San Diego State football team held a weekly boosters luncheon. Don got down on his knees to show a blind child the design of the rug. Don cried. I will always remember this sign of his humanity.
My mother was a single parent who taught at San Diego State in the 1960's. My brother and I went to the Aztec games with my mother. Don became like a father figure to my brother and me.
It was a great pleaser meeting you and spending time with you & your family while I was a CNA working at promise hospital. I stayed day's and nights with you. GOD BLESS YOU!-Christina Portillo& Fam!
Away from football for years after getting out of the serice in 1946. It all changed when I watched an Aztec game in 1964. Been one of his fan's ever since.
I have wonderful memories of the Charger's games back in the Air Coryell day's. Thank you for the memories. Wonderful memorial service, cried and laughed. May you rest in peace.
What a great memorial service~a true celebration of life~Thank you Don Coryell for making a lasting impression in our hearts~we should all hope to have such a passion for the things we hold dear to us
Thank you Coach for all the good times and memories you gave me. And thank you Mike, Mindy for inviting us to the memorial service - for a few hours I really felt like part of your family.
Thank you so very much for the wonderful celebration of life today! What a blessing! Thank you so! May The Lord continue to comfort you & be ever so near as you adjust to this huge loss! We praise Jesus for you all!
The Memorial was amazing. I laughed and I cried. I would like to suggest that you make a DVD of the memorial available to purchase and then donate the proceeds to his favorite charity. I'd buy one.
RIP Coach, you brought hope to the hopeless in St. Louis. You truly changed the game, and brought it here first. It's a shame the Cardinals Front Office was so shortsighted. San Diego's gain was St. Louis' loss...
