ForeverMissed

This memorial website was created in the memory of Donald C. Teal who passed away unexpectedly on January 27, 2011. Don is survived by his wife (Lucille), his two children (Denise and David), as well as his brother (Richard).

Don was retired from E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company where he had worked as a Chemical Engineer for 32 years. Don was also a WWII veteran and served from 1943 until 1946. Don loved playing golf and working in the garden and/or greenhouse, both of which he did for as long as I can remember.

Don was a loving husband and wonderful father and will be missed deeply by those who loved him.

Join us in celebrating his life by viewing and sharing our/your pictures, memories, thoughts, and stories.

To my wonderful Father: you were such a fantastic role model for Dave and I. So intelligent, kind, caring and loving. You taught me how to garden, how to grow beautiful orchids, how to care for our pets, you set a wonderful example for us as a professional. Your work ethic was incredible. You were always building things for us - a tree house, a pool, a fort. We always knew you cared and loved us. You have a legacy of being our hero. No one can ever change your legacy. Love and miss you. Denise

I thought of you today, but that is nothing new
I thought about you yesterday, and days before that too
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name
All I have is memories and a picture in a frame
Your memory is a keepsake, from which I'll never part
God has you in his keeping, I have you in my heart

June 10 will be our 63 anniversary. I miss you and love you

It hardly seems possible that we have been without this good man for 18 months. The neighborhood is not the same without him. Our hearts and prayers remain with his loving family. We all miss him and are diminished by his loss.

Dear Dad: It has been a year now since you left us and we really miss you. We are all doing well and think of you often. As time passes, my memories of you are from the pre-Alzheimer's times- the really good times and I know you would want that. You would not want people to think of you that way. Now that you are in a better place and at peace, I feel peace too. I love you, Denise

We have had the pleasure of living next door to Don and Lu for over thirteen years. Don was a cheerful, giving person, the ideal neighbor. For just one example, once Don insisted that we use his car for as long as we needed it. Godspeed, good friend

My Uncle Don

Shared by Joseph J. Rook, Jr. on June 30, 2020
Don was my mother’s brother, as was Uncle Dick.  My mother was Doris Eleanor Teal Rook, who married Joe Rook a golf pro from Buffalo New York.  I have many fond memories of Thanksgivings spent with my maternal grandfather, Clyde G. Teal, Uncle Dick and Aunt Lou, Uncle Dick and Aunt Phyllis and a large extended family at my grandfather’s house in Buffalo during the 1950’s and early 60’s.  There were many kids running around and Grandpa would settle in his chair in the living room, turn off his hearing aids and read his paper, oblivious to the chaos surrounding him.  I moved away from Buffalo in 1962 to join the Army and lost touch with the family as my mother relocated from Buffalo in the 70’s

Together again

Shared by Dave Teal on January 27, 2016

Dad,

Well, by now you know that Mom has joined you - she missed you so much and longed to be with you. So, now you're both together and happy. I miss you both dearly.

Love,

Dave

Life Lessons

Shared by Denise Teal on January 27, 2013

You were the smartest person I have ever known.  You were ahead of your time in so many ways.  I remember you insisting that front and back seat belts be installed in our car even though they were not required in the 1950's . This was for the safety of our family.  Some people thought you were crazy- they were certainly wrong!

You installed several fire extinguishers in the house and this saved our home from being burned to the ground following a tornadic storm and lightning strike.  Our attic was on fire and phone service was out.  You put out the fire.   You were always our hero and still are.  Guess who has fire extinguishers in the house now?
