Donald Clyde Teal was born in Buffalo , NY on July 3rd, 1923 to Clyde G. and Bertha M. (Barber) Teal. Siblings are Richard and Doris Rook Herberson (deceased).

Graduated from the Technical High School of Buffalo in June 1941.

Worked for Linde Air Products Research Division until joining the Army. Little did he know that this work was part of the Manhattan Project that ultimately led to the development of the first atom bomb.

Joined the Army in May 1943 and received an honorable discharge on March 30th 1946. Don was on the front line and saw action in Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge.

Graduated with honors from Michigan Technological University on June 5th 1950 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.

Married Lucille E. Nordbeck on June 10th 1950 in Dollar Bay Michigan.

Daughter Denise L. Teal born July 23rd 1952.

Son David C. Teal born December 10th 1954.

Retired from Dupont in 1984 and was placed on special assignment in Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. His mission: play golf as much as humanly possible.

Don took his mission seriously and quickly joined a group of golf buddies that called themselves "The Idiots". I don't think there was anything idiotic about them: they knew exaxtly what they were doing - having fun.

Don spent his retirement years golfing, working in the garden and around the house, and volunteering his time to the Lions Club in Crossville as a part of their eye testing program. Don also loved to travel and with Lu, visited Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden (had to see where Lu's family came from), China, Switzerland, Argentina, Hawaii, Alaska, and wherever the grand kids happened to be.
