Thinking of you

February 4, 2016

This is gonna make you laugh,

Well this morning with you and George on my mind........

I was taking two cats in for the trap and release program at the Humane Society I stopped to get Pam and the other volunteers some doughnuts.

Went in got doughnuts, went to Humane Society, come home was writing memorials in yours and Georges books and Gary comes in and asks me what that white stuff was on my cheek.

I am so embarrassed, (dirty mind)  it was medicine I put on last nite for a pimple and forgot to take off.  No one said one word to me.  I won't be stopping at that doughnut shop any time soon.  There were people in there talking to me probably dieing to say something.

Gary thinks it is hilarious.  Kinda is.

Had to share knew you would love it.

Love Sis

bikes

April 18, 2015

Yeah we did.  I remember the one time Don and I was running a course we made and when I came to a certain spot George waved me over to a short cut and Don couldn't figure out where I went and how I stayed in front.  It was so funny to see the look on your face when you couldn't catch me.  I had to slow down and let George catch me because I couldn't reach the ground on the bike.  Mine and George's kids were riding tricycles.  We had a blast that day, mom was laughing.  Good memories.

Some of my favorite memories are when all of us (Don & Ursula, Mary, George and I) would go ride our dirt bikes.  Don used to actually race his dirt bike and I remember all of us going to watch and cheer him on.  When us girls got to ride them we had so much fun.  It felt like we were going so very fast, but I'm sure it wasn't that fast.  We had a blast.  Then we got 3 wheelers and started having adventures on them.  They we dangerous though, but they sure were fun.

I love you Don and miss you.  I believe you're having a ball up in heaven.  You're reunited with your Dad and Mom and George.  I love you all.

Salt

March 25, 2015

When I was a kid I was a bit of a wild child / tomboy no surprise there cuz that hasn't changed. . I was pushing my dump truck up n down my uncle Don's driveway and I was pushing to fast and lost my balance skidded down the driveway face first I got up grabbed my dump truck and started pushing it again someone went in and told my grandma that I fell on my face she made me come inside so she could look at it my uncle Don was cleaning off the blood I asked if he was done so I could go back outside and play with my dump truck some more he said almost done told me to close my eyes and said this is gonna burn a little .. I opened my eyes and started crying telling he lied it don't burn a little it burns a lot he laughed and said ok im all done you can go back outside and play with your dump truck now handed me his handkerchief I blew my nose on it gave it back to him and said ok..

A few years later i was bouncing on my bed and busted my nose on the headboard i started yelling / crying for my mom because i saw blood everywhere she came in took me in the bathroom put a wet cloth on it and called my uncle Don  to come look at it because my dad was out of town working and because we lived just around the corner from each other. My sister and cousin were looking for the chunk of my nose that was missing when he got there asked my mom for a bandaid told me to close my eyes and this is gonna burn I opened my eyes and before I could say anything he handed me his handkerchief i blew my nose  gave it back he put it back in his pocket put the bandaid on it and told us no more jumping on the bed..

A few more years later I was riding my bike with no hands and crashed in the street again I saw blood pushed my bike home threw it down in the driveway went in the house and showed my mom she said oh sh!t put a wet rag on it called my uncle Don again because my dad was working . He sat me on the bathroom sink took off the wash cloth and said oh boy asked me if I wanted to see my lip so I turned and looked in the mirror and saw my lip hanging there I turned back to him and he said this is gonna burn a lot then put his hand and what was in it on my lip handed me his handkerchief again I blew my nose and gave it back to him. He stayed for a while  to make sure I was gonna be ok .. I asked him why it burned when he fixed my boo boos he said it burned because he put SALT on them to kill any germs ..

Now when I get cut I always think of putting salt on them but don't because I don't got my uncle Don's handkerchief to blow my nose or him to put the salt on it.. it's just not the same doing it yourself. .

I LOVE YOU & MISS YOU UNCLE DON...

Broken down

February 6, 2015

Even as I got older Don and George would have to rescue me, and they were the first ones I'd call.

They came and got me when my care broke down on the freeway, but was not too happy when I called from Prescott.

George and Don came to get me George brought his flat bed trailer so he could just load my car up on it.

It ended up only being a water pump but they couldn't leave me and the boys up there.

They never really got mad they just figured it's Mary what has happened now.  lol

Rescue

February 6, 2015

I was pretty short growing up and I loved to climb trees.  Many times he would have to come and get me out of a tree because I couldn't reach the limb to climb down or if it was a roof, I couldn't reach the step on the ladder at least in my mind.

He would always come and lecture me the whole time laughing his butt off.

Big brother taking me to the fair

February 6, 2015

I think I was in the fourth grade and Don wanted to go to the fair.  He was told he could but had to take me.  So him and a couple of friends said ok and off we went.  We took alleys and side streets and when we got there he told me to wait at this one gate and when him and his friends got in (which they were sneaking in) said they would come there and get me.  So to me it was like I waited forever, I still say he went to the wrong gate and he said I left when I shouldn't.  So I remember buying one of those balloons from a guy that when blew up was about 10 feet tall to me. , a security guy told me if I wasn't going in I needed to go on my way.  So I proceeded to head home crying, going the way we came.  Well Don come to get me and I wasn't there he was scared and pissed.  So they looked and looked and finally had to go home to tell Mom and Dan he lost me., but low and behold guess who was home.  He was grounded for awhile but I had my balloon and I was proud I found my way home, needless to say Don was mad at me for awhile.
