Donald Ray Campbell, 62, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 11th 2013 at Granville Medical Center.

A native of Person County, the son of the late James Robert “Nip” and Elsie Mae Compton Campbell. He was employed with D and W Vaughan Paving Company and recently retired.

Surviving are his wife of thirty-nine years, Lillian “Louise” Dement Campbell of the home, two daughters, Donna Marie C. Davis of Halifax, Va., Jacquelynn (Jackie) C. Hart of Grassy Creek, a son, William E. Dement of Creedmoor, 10 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Mitchell Campbell and a sister, Molly Kay Campbell.

Cut flowers and potted plants are acceptable.

Visitation will be held Friday evening, June 14th 2013 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home.

Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting the Campbell family.
