Wow what a guy!

October 21, 2021
Don and Pam threw open their doors to host so many full moon parties and gatherings, let there be no doubt you wanted to be on their party list!
But what made gatherings so special was Don. He was 100 percent in - making great culinary creations, firing up the spa, fire pit, whatever it took for a memorable gathering.
I will never forget when the Hansen’s hosted a party making ginger bread houses. Don prepared for days making houses and frosting, etc. It was a great time - delicious, memorable and fun! Don took great joy in good friends and family. Thank you Don for being such a beautiful, loving and giving person. You will always live on deep in our hearts.

Stingray Sting

October 3, 2021
Don was absolutely the nicest man I have ever known.  We went shelling out in front of Don and Pam's home with our adult granddaughters a couple of years ago.  One of our granddaughters, Sophie, got stung by a stingray.  She was bleeding and in such great pain!  Pam told her to go up to the house and Don would help her.  So she did.  Don graciously brought out a pan of hot water for her foot and an aspirin to help ease the pain.  He gave a her a small bottle of water to take the aspirin with.  It turns out that he mistakenly grabbed a water bottle filled with Vodka out of the refrigerator.  Sophie gulped it down with the aspirin.  When we all got back to the patio, I asked Sophie how she was feeling.  She said great!  "Don helped me out a lot!  Especially, the the water he gave me to drink."  We still tell that story to this day!  We miss him a lot!!

Devoted Dad

June 6, 2021
Here is Dad performing "surgery" to repair my precious Duckie for the zillionth time -- not to mention the time he drove hours to retrieve Duckie when I threw him out of the car window on the way to Tahoe.  He was a devoted dad who was always there for us whether it was making dozens of individual gingerbread houses by hand, Indian Princess camping trips, or doling out sage advice and supplying (sometimes wildly inaccurate) nature facts. Ranger Don is and always will be missed.
