Donald Lee Cooke, 78, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Granville Medical Center.

A native of Granville County, the son of the late Ernest and Myrtle Adcock Cooke.  He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Burlington Industries.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Eddie Mauldin.  Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann Mangum Cooke of the home, a daughter, Deborah Ann Cooke Davis of Henderson, a son, Robert Lee Cooke of Oxford, a sister, Dorothy C. Lunsford of Stovall, four brothers, Ernest Jr., Bobby, Carl, and Jerry Cooke all of Oxford, five grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Cooke.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 – 8:30 PM Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and other times at 2209 Barker Road, Oxford, North Carolina 27565.
