his Life
Donald Dean Williams was born in 1934 in the Ruby valley. He attended Virginia City schools, played basketball on the varsity team, and worked for the Foster Ranch. In 1955 he enlisted in the Air Force and became a flight engineer and captain. After 11 years of service he was honorably discharged and became a pilot for Pan American Airlines. He flew the Boeing 7x7 series internationally for 22 years before he retired at the age of 56. At various times, he was a member of the Virginia City Council, and served one term as mayor. He is survived by his brother Roger Williams of Virginia City; his daughters Tonia Spaulding of Tacoma and Crystal Williams of Los Angeles; his son David Spaulding of Dublin; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Williams of Virginia City. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Virginia City with military honors in the summer of 2023.

Many fun memories with Don. We once pulled into a hotel rightbehind each other in the middle of Manhattan to see a broadway show. How crazy was that. 
Another funny memory I have is of Don sitting in my Florida house in the middle of summer reading a book in his down jacket. We called that house Fearn’s fridge. Richard Fearn really enjoyed the ac. 
When Don learned I had a spider collection he sent me a beautiful crystal specimen that adorns a living room table and reminds me of him every day. It was great knowing you may friend.
