Passed away: at the age of 62, while living in Vancouver WA. since 2015 with longtime girlfriend of 26 yrs Brenda Rismoen.

Don was born to James A. and Erna L. (Laue) Merchant in Longview, WA
Don graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1976.
Don worked at Ocean Beach Chevron Longview, WA 1996 -2017.

Don loved spending time with his grandkids, friends, and family. He liked going to watch the grandkids in their sports and going to car shows. Riding motorcycle. Woodwork.
He was very loved and will be missed by all.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Danny L. Merchant.
He is survived by Brenda at home, her daughter Cherynnia, 3 grandchildren Joceana, Mason and Rosie.
Siblings, James A. Merchant Jr of Castle Rock, WA and Jean A. Merchant of Boise, Idaho and niece and nephews. Many other family members.

Cremation has taken place.
Graveside Memorial will be held at Longview Memorial, May 15th, 2021 @ 1pm

I can't believe your gone.
It breaks my heart I didn't get to sit and bs with you one more time.
Our youth was a crazy time where anything went.
Me, you and Red played the 3 Amigos on more than one occasion....lol....good times fore sure.....
At some point we both stopped to settle down and try and do the right thing.
Man...sure was easier doin the other stuff...lol.
I was always impressed with your dedication to your family. A strong man indeed.
You were not a quitter and didn't really complain much about things.
You taught me valuable auto mechanics skills at a young age.
Skills I use to this day.
I'm only sorry we didn't make time for each other as we grew older.
Old friends are worth their weight in gold!
I miss you buddy...I miss you really bad....I am grateful you were in my life Don Merchant
