His Life

Don was the youngest of 3 children born to Dr Allan and Lora Foster of Peoria Illinois and always had an interest in science and the world around him. He was an intellectual and a voracious reader.He went to Virginia military institute and Bradley University in Peoria. He taught flying in his early 20's and joined the air transport command during WWII. He flew airplanes all over the world. He met and married Elayne Viergiver in Grand Rapids, Michigan when he worked as a DJ at an AM station. They moved to California in 1949 where they had 3 daughters and a son. He worked with attorneys in the claims dept.at AAA in L.A. and decided to become an attorney. He attended Southwestern University at night in L.A.. At 45 yrs he passed the bar and became an attorney. Later he became a judge and then Presiding judge for the Workers Compensation Appeals Board in Norwalk Ca..After his retirement he stayed active doing arbitration. He continued to educate himself about computers. He attended Wings over Wendys weekly, and attended W.H. Presbyterian Church regularly. He had a great wit and sense of humor. He always had interesting life stories.His parents, siblings and wife preceded him in death. He is survived by his 4 children,7 grandchildren,5 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.We know he is in the arms of Jesus and now at Peace.
