I don't know what to say... I was really looking forward to seeing Don this summer... just sad.. but I will take it as it comes... Jim..My condolences to you and your family.. From: Stephen Yanicak
I live life to the fullest because I grew up in the White Oak Section of Belleville NJ during the 1960s with a neighborhood full of the best childhood friends one could ever want along with their parents, who were also my second parents. Closest among my friends were the Buro family, that I just always referred to as "Donald and Jimmy." Everything we did then affects the way I look at life now.... from playing hit the wire, to putting cards in our bicycle wheels (to make hot rod noises), being the first kids to mount stick shifts on our bikes, enjoying pool parties at the McKnight's or Arena's, building plastic car models, going up the country to see "Donald and Jimmy's grandma and camping out", to attending the Trenton 350 to see Mario win (we had that Win With Mario Banner that we paraded around the stands!), attending the 1st Pocono 500 and sneaking into the pit area and pretending we were USAC officials, to having insane fireworks wars (remember those freak'in M-80s!!! I'm partially deaf now!), doing crazy things on mini-bikes!, Custom Car Show in NYC!, or just all us kids hanging out together in front of the Yanicak home on Birchwood Drive, just chatting and listening to LOUD ROCK MUSIC! (YUP! Mark and Elaine M, Don really really liked the Doors!)... and annoying the neighbors..LOL Don.. it's not fair, you left all us poor bastards much too quickly... I'll miss you, but you will always be with me and I guess even watching over me... RIP Steve Yanicak.. your buddy in childhood crime
