Donald was born in Minot, South Dakota to Albert E. Houlding and his wife Maxine.  He has two sisters, Colleen D. Houlding Westlin, and Nancy J. Johnson; and one brother, James A. Houlding.  
   He married J. Dorothy White on November 23, 1951, in Watertown, South Dakota  At  the time he married, he had just had his nineteenth birthday.  Dorothy had a daughter, Julie, from her first marriage, so he became my (Julie's) Dad.  He had two of his own children, Kim Dorothy, and Donald Jay. He has four grandchildren.  He was deeply in love with his wife all of the years of their marriage.  His daughter, Kim Dorothy was born in September of 1952 followed by a son, Donald Jay, in 1956.  He is survived by four grandchildren; Andrew Robert Staker, Kellie Staker, Heather Lynn Houlding, and Jessica Leigh Houlding.
  He was preceeded in death by his parents and grandparents.  His father, Albert, "Bert," was born in  Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and was a naturalized citizen of the United States.  His mother, Maxine, was born in North Dakota.  He was a loving son, husband, Dad, and grand-father.  He is shown in the picture with his wfe.  He is deeply missed.  He was seventy-eight years of age at the of his death.  His sister, Nancy followed him in death in 2017.  His wife followed him June 6, 2017.
