I went to St. George H.S and Navy OCS with Don. We shared time in Hawaii while in the Navy. He was a good friend but over the years lost touch. We shared a lot together and I do think of him on many occasions.

Don and I went to St. Timothy's and Saint George and went through Navy OCS together. Many good times together. We caught up during the service in Hawaii and San Diego. Lost touch over the years but have many fond memories.

I served with Don on the USS Vance but lost track of him after I left in 1964. He is mentioned in my memoir of the Vance years. www.inthetrough.net. Don, or "Salts" as he was called, was a friend, a shipmate and a goodhearted person. Should the family want to hear a few sea stories about "Salts", I can be reached via the website.

God bless you, Bill. I see why Don always said you were a great friend. Yes, I was sad today, too. Went to mass for Don this morning. I hope he is in heaven and enjoying himself. I hope he knows we are thinking of him with love.

A sad one-year anniversary.  Hope Don is at peace.  When it's my turn, maybe Don, my brother and I will reconnect.  Wouldn't that be great.

It's hard to believe that Don would have turned 72 today. So many, many years have passed since he, my brother and I spent countless house together in Edgebrook and at Bradley Univ. I will always remember him and his boundless sense humor.

I was so very sorry to hear the news. Don was special to me and my brother,Tom. The three of us grew up together in the beautiful Chicago neighborhood of Edgebrook. Tom and I still have fond memories of all the times Don was at our home on Louise Ave and the countless hours we spent playing golf at Bill Caldwell G.C. during our teen years. RIP, Mr Donald Andrew McKillop.

My brother, John, and I are very upset by this loss which we just learned. While we were not in touch with our father, Don, over the last 20 years, we would be so happy to hear from any of the McKillop family members. Don was also survived by his children Jennifer and John and 3 grandchildren: my daughter, Isabelle, 14yrs and my son Cole, 11yrs, and John's son Ethan, 7yrs. With love.

I will always remember my Uncle and Godfather from the times I spent with him while growing up. His love for Football and the Navy stand out foremost in my mind. Later in life we fell out of touch while he was living overseas and then due to his illness. I always still loved him and he knew that . Andy, he loved you the most and I am sorry for your loss! Andy I look forward to seeing you..

As a long, long time friend of Linda's, I was sad to hear of Don's passing. To Andrew, although I've never met you, I am sure the McKillop spirit is within you...from your Grandpa and Grandma, your Mom and Dad! I am sorry for your loss. And to Linda, dear friend...now your bro is keeping your Mom entertained! Love to you and the dear family that supported Don all these years.

I miss my brother, Don. Always gregarious, he used the Internet to socialize with friends from Chicago and the Navy. He enjoyed the Lakers and USC football. His fondest memories were times spent with his son, Andy. In recent years he suffered physically and mentally, and is now at peace.
