Wichita, Kansas - Donald "Don" Aguilar, 73, passed away surrounded by his family on April 24, 2021. He was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and raised in San Francisco, CA from the age of 8. Don worked at Beech Aircraft for 36 years. He served in the US Army, serving in Vietnam and other military bases. Preceded in death by his parents, Gustavo Aguilar Cortes and Carlota Aguilar Downing. Survived by his siblings, Martha (Frank) Fair, Jim (Beth) Aguilar of Manteca, CA, Gustavo Aguilar of Tucson, AZ, Grace Velarde of San Francisco, CA; nieces, Heather (William) Gibbs, Evie (Ken) Knoke, Debbie (Chris) Buckley, Laura Velarde, Nancy Gonzalez; nephew, Jose Garcia; and many other nephews and cousins. Services were at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Wichita. Memorials were established with St. Margaret Mary Catholic School, 2635 S. Pattie, Wichita, KS 67216; The Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202. Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
