Donald Ray Whetstone was born December 31, 1956 in Tallapoosa County to the late Deacon Artis Whetstone and the late Claudie Mae Whetstone.

Donald Ray joined New Elam Baptist Church at an early age.

Mr. Donald Ray Whetstone's earthly tabernacle dissolved on Saturday moming, March 8,2014 at UAB hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

Two brothers preceded him in death; Artis Whetstone Jr. and William Whetstone. He leaves to cherish his memory: four brothers, Richard Whetstone of Alexandria, Virginia, Charles Whetstone (Bernice) of Alexander City, Alabama, Johnny Whetstone (Evelyn) of Danville, Illinois, Tommy Whetstone (Elaine) of Birmingham, Alabama; one sister, Mary Whetstone of Birmingham, Alabama; honorary sisteq Carol Gowan (Walter) of Kellyton Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and the Keno community.
