Donna Lee Hale Ramzey did things her way her whole life, including her last days. She passed away at home at the young age of 73 on February 5, 2021. She was born in St Louis, MO on December 4, 1947, but got to Texas as soon as she could. When her mother moved to Texas in the early 70’s, Donna packed up her family and moved to Waco, Texas. Donna enjoyed coffee in the quiet of the morning, playing cards with the kids, collecting nick knacks and wind chimes……countless wind chimes.

Donna leaves behind her husband of 31 years, Fernando Richardo Ramzey; daughters, Tammy Allen, Tracey Price and Rickell Ramzey; granddaughters Haley Price Gonzalez and Kinley Allen; sisters Fern Soukup and Sheryl Stanford; countless nieces and nephews (and their friends who lovingly adopted her as their “Aunt Donna”) and the family’s loved Papa William Fague. She is preceded in death by her father Howard Lon Hale, her mother Laverne Irene Fague, sister Vickki Hale, brothers Howard Hale Jr and Edward Hale.

Doing things her way, even after leaving this earth, the family will have a private memorial service.

Ohh Aunt Donna !!!!! I was a lil ol JR high student when I meet you living just a block over!!! I remember riding my bike near your house hearing your wind-chimes and one day I stop to say hello to you and Rickell and the rest is history!! Started out as mrs. Donna then one day it was AUNT Donna!! You were with me during the good times and not so soo good times!!!
Your heart was sooo warm and gentle and always in a good mood!! Remember every Friday night you would order Glory’s for dinner. AND every week watching American idol with your family !!I felt that I can talk to you about EVERYTHING I spent more time at your house then I did mine !!!! Aunt Donna I can go on and on and on about the times that we have shared and tell sooooo many stories. Love you forever and always Nikki❤️

My mom was one of a kind. She was always tough as nails. As a child I remember her to be a hard worker. I can’t ever remember a time that she didn’t work at least one job and many times two jobs at a time. As a grown women I reflect on her life as very hard with few times of pure joy. My childhood was one of survival and I believe she felt the same.
I know Rick brought her love and Rickell was the daughter she really wanted. I’m thankful for the two of them to have brought the family environment that she lacked with my dad and sister.
Not everyone gets the Hallmark life and we certainly did not. With all the many stories I could tell, I mostly can say she taught me to work for more in life. Which is exactly what I have done. I love deeper, I experience joy daily and I love life.
For this I will always love her and miss not having the opportunity to share part of my life with her. I loved you mother. Rest In Peace.
