Donnie H. Walters peacefully passed away January 18, 2024 after an extended illness.  She was born October 2, 1949 in Oakland, CA.  Ms. Walters lived her entire life in Birmingham, AL, and was laid to rest there at Elmwood Cemetery on January 29, 2024.  A celebration of life was held in honor of her memory on January 30, 2024 at Vulcan Park.  It was attended by a host of family and friends.  She was a generous donor to the ASPCA and a loving mother and friend, an exemplary employee, a devoted partner, and a doting grandmother.  She is very much loved and will be missed.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Hathaway and grandmother, Lillian Coker.  She is survived by partner, George Cahill originally of New York state now a resident of Birmingham, children Robert Michael Walters and Dana Michelle Walters, both of Birmingham, and grandchildren David Robert Walters and Dillon Walters Johnson,  both of Colorado.  Donations may be made to the ASPCA in her honor.
