Donny Lyon Whitfield, 62, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday August 16, 2019 at his home.

A native of Granville County he was the son of William “Billy” Lyon Whitfield and Emily Bragg. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Creedmoor and worked at the South Granville Country Club for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.

Surviving other than his parents are his sister, Debra Whitfield Talley (Buckey)of Wilton, a son, Chris Whitfield of Wilton and three grandchildren.

Flowers are kindly accepted.

Visitation will be held 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service and other times at the home.
