Doreen was the president of the Girl Guides Association of Jamaica. She also served as a unit leader, travelling trainer, commissioner, chief commissioner, executive member and life member of the association. 

Doreen was the principal of Hopefield Preparatory School, one of Jamaica's top performing preparatory schools. 

Doreen was the daughter of John Alfred Clemetson and Alice Maude Clemetson (née Bruce).
