Doris Louise O’Neal Royal, 98, a longtime resident of Butner in Granville County passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Universal Heathcare North Raleigh.
She was born July 5, 1920 in Wake County to the late Ernest “Bart” O’Neal and Maggie Jackson O’Neal. She was a longtime member of Butner Baptist Church and retired as a Healthcare Technician from John Umstead Hospital.
Doris had a passion for quilting having made over a hundred quilts.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Kristen Lassiter.  Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving are two daughters, Jane Royal McLain (Bill), Grace Lynn Royal; two sons, Donald G. Royal (Ngal), Robert O. Royal (Libby) all of Raleigh; a brother, Ernest “Buddy” O’Neal of Roxboro; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. “RG” Royal; two sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:45 AM at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice of Raleigh, 4505 Falls of the Neuse Rd. # 650, Raleigh, NC  27609.

Lynn, So sorry for your loss. You always talked about your mom and you were always there for her! I know she was a wonderful mother the way you always spoke about her, but you were a wonderful daughter because you were always there and always talking about her! Losing a parent is tough. Especially this time of year. She is rejoicing in heaven at such a special time with those that have gone before her.
I love you Lynn. Life moves quickly and it’s memories we make with family and friends that count here on earth. Take care of yourself♥️
