Dorothy Cooke Lunsford, 88, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at Granville Medical Center.
A native of Granville County, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myrtle Cooke. She was a member of Stovall Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Stovall Methodist Church by. Rev. John Yount. Burial will be in Stovall Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Paynter (Robert) of Henderson; two sons, King Douglas Lunsford, Jr. and David Wayne Lunsford, both of Stovall; four brothers, Carl Cooke and Bobby Cooke of Stovall, Jerry Cooke and Ernest Cooke of Oxford; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, King Douglas Lunsford; two brothers, Clyde and Donald Cooke.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, February 27, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of her son, Doug Lunsford.
