Omaha, NE. Passed away at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE. Dorothy was born in Fargo, ND. Dorothy attended University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA and graduated with a degree in German and Fine Arts. As an educator, Dorothy taught most recently at Bryan Middle School in Omaha, NE. Dorothy touched many people throughout her life. She was active in her educational career at Bryan Middle School; Band and Show Choir activities at Millard West High School; Boy Scout Troop #331; and Red Hat Society. Dorothy's hobbies were sewing, Scrabble, and reading. Dorothy was gifted musically. She play eight musical instruments and played Russian folk music with the Houston Balalaika Society, classical music at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and gypsy music during the Texas Renaissance Festival. Dorothy's sewing passion inspired her to make twenty-seven quilts and one wedding dress for her friends and loved ones. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Charles, daughter Erika Fennen of Omaha, and stepdaughter Cranesa Fennen of Creedmore, NC; parents-in-law: Gayle and Janet Weeren of Burton, TX, Charles and Cheryl Fennen of San Antonio, TX; brothers and sisters: Bill (Jean) Stuve, Betty (Dave) McKern, Carol Stuve, Peggy (Steve) Witmer, Kay Zhorne, Alice Stuve, John (Cindy) Stuve, DeArmond J. Fennen, Gary R. Fennen, Leslie Weeren, Kelly (Tim) Walker; many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son Joshua (Josh) David Fennen, and her parents Frederick W. and Mary M. Stuve.
Viewing begins Wednesday, November 30th from 3 pm with a VISITATION with family 6-8pm at John A. Gentlemen Pacific St. Chapel. Dorothy's Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 4pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Millard at 13271 Millard Avenue, Omaha. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Dorothy Fennen Memorial Fund to support the Millard West High School Show Choir or Josie Harper Hospice House. Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo bank or UP Streamliner Credit Union, 1400 Douglas Mail STOP 0040, Omaha NE 68179.
