Her Life

Mrs. Dorothy Mae (Dot) Jones Ridgeway was born to the union of Mr. Jack
Jones, and Mary Hart Jones.

Ms. Ridgeway accepted Christ as her personal savior, and was baptized at
an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Ms. Ridgeway departed this life on Thursday May 14, 2015 in Salem, Al.

Ms. Ridgeway was a dedicated, hard worker throughout her life.She
held jobs at the following companies; Kaydon, Walmart, West Point
Paper route, Easter Seal, Legal Aid Services, and later retired from
Hughes Corporation. Ms. Ridgeway’s last employment was with
Danny, and Angela Salanis in Valley, AL. whom she loved dearly.

Ms. Ridgeway was very proud of her most pivotal moment in her life,
when she completed the G.E.D. course, and received the state of Al.
High School Equivalency Diploma at the age of sixty-nine.

Ms. Ridgeway was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Richard
Ridgeway, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jones.

Ms. Ridgeway was a very active member of the Bethelehem
Missionary Society, Usher Board (secretary), and Sunday School
(assistant secretary). Bethelehem Missionary Baptist Church was the
epiphany of her heart and soul, and she adored every minute spent
worshipping and praising God with her Church Family.

Ms. Ridgeway was a dedicated Bible study student, she attended
bible study every Wednesday, at St. Stephens C.M.E. Church at noon
under Rev. Joe Mcghee, and Bethelehem Missionary Baptist Church
(evening bible study) under Rev. R.L. Carter.
She truly loved serving God, and being in his presence.

Ms. Ridgeway leaves to cherish her memories to her loving sister Cynthia
Mae Tolbert, of Farmington Hills, Mi., Two special nieces Syretta T. (Alvin)
White, of Augusta, Ga., and Delene Madden, Valley, AL.; Two special great
nieces; Alexis Lillian White, and Jayla Ashawnte Areiyon White of Augusta,
Ga.; Two special great nephews, Alexander Timothy White, and Anthony
James White of Augusta, Ga.; One step sister, Elaine (Delmar) Williams
of Farmington Hills, Mi.; Two brother-in-laws, Eddie (Lula) Ridgeway, and
Manuel Ridgeway of Lanett, Al.; Three sister-in-laws Mary (late Harry Sr.) Ridgeway, and Annie B. (late Willie) Ridgeway of Lanett, AL., Dorothy Jean (late Irvin) Ridgeway of Lagrange, Ga.; Six nieces, eight nephews, two special friends whom she adored and loved Carrie Ricks, and Amaryllis Walker, and A host of relatives, and friends. Ms. Ridgeway had a caring gentle love for cats, and an adventurous spirit, and you could see her at any time driving around the Valley area.
