Ms. Dorothy (Maryann) Spence Tyler, the daughter of Ethel Mae Spence and the late Hugh McCullough, Sr., was born in October 27, 1954 in Troup County, GA. God called her home June 19, 2011 at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital, Valley, AL.
Dorothy accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, West Point, GA. She later worshiped at St. John Community Baptist Church and St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Lanett, AL. She enjoyed fellowshipping and worshiping in the house of the Lord. In addition to her Christian service, MaryAnn had many interests including walking and her love of flowers.
Dorothy was a product of West Point public school. She was employed at Brian’s Center as a CNA and West Point Pepperell. She was well known for helping others in need.
She will always be remembered for her contagious and infectious smile. Encounters with MaryAnn would often times develop into lifelong friendships.
She was preceded in death by a two sisters, Vicki Spence and Christine Spence; two brothers, Walter Spence, Hugh McCullough, Jr.; grandmothers, Savannah Evans, Lovie Lee Hall; grandfather, Wilson Spence; aunt Louise McQueen, Minnie C. Borden; uncles, Otis Brock, Sr. and Frank McCullough.

Dorothy’s memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of her loved ones: two sons, Charles Lovelace, West Point, GA and Christopher (Letika) McCullough, Lagrange, GA; 4 grand children, Charles Lovelace Jr., Charcyona Lovelace, Charnesia Booker Lovelace, Christeria McCullough; a wonderful mother that she so dearly cherished, Ethel Spence, West Point, GA; five sisters, Linda Stinson, Hogansville, GA; Shirley( Jim) Bailey, Robin (David) Webb, Startesha Spence, West Point, GA; Yolanda Jones, Valley, AL; five brothers, Rev. Jerome (Tonya) Spence, Newnan, GA, Bobby (Nekieta) Trammell, Atlanta, GA; Johnny Trammell and Michael Trammell, West Point, GA; LaFrederick (Kheri) Spence, Atlanta GA; two aunts, Wylene Hurston, West Point, Ga; Eva Grace Brock, Atlanta, GA; great aunts, Corrine Milton, Lanett, AL, Jessie B. Gates, Lafayette, AL; uncle, Walter Brock, West Point, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends, a very dear and devoted friend, Bobby Lee Walker, Lanett, AL.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family, especially to Mrs. Ethel, my hop es and prayers are that with each passing day, the load will lighten. It is wonderful to that our Heavenly Father has opened the way for us to be reunited with our loved ones in the resurrection according to John 5:28&29 and Acts 24:15.
