Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Hughes, 64, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Monday, February 6, 2012.

A native of Granville County, the daughter of the late Walter Washington and Dorothy Newton Hughes.  She was a member of West Oxford Baptist Church and retired from Durham Regional Hospital as director of Radiology.

Memorial Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2012 in the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford by Rev. Wes Garner, Jr.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.

Surviving are a sister, Phyllis H. Klenke of Greenville, a brother, W. Deryl Hughes of Raleigh, one niece, four nephews, two great nieces, one great nephew, an aunt, Yvonne H. Parker of Kinston and a uncle, Phillip Hughes of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Granville County Animal Shelter, 5650 Cornwall Rd., Oxford, NC 27565.  

Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2012 prior to the service at the Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.
