Happy Birthday my friend.....we miss you so much!
Douglas Allen “Al” Minor,65, a lifetime resident of the Creedmoor-Butner area passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home.
A native of Granville County, the son of the late Henry Hunt Minor and Nellie B. FreemanMinor. He was of the Baptist faith and retired for Mutual Distributing Company in Raleigh. He was an avid Nascar fan.
Memorial services will be private.
Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Linda (Toni) Jackson Minor of the home, a daughter, Lisa Minor(Scott) of Oxford, a son, Douglas(Doug), Allen Minor Jr.(Michelle) of Butner, three grandchildren, Bailey, Carly and Jaxson Minor and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Ellis and two brothers, Jimmy and Bryant Minor.
A visitation will be held, Friday evening, March 14, 2014 from 7:00-8:30 PM at the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home.

I was saddened when I read of Al's passing today. I have many Happy Memories of Al as a kid growing up in Butner. Haven't seen him in many years but still puts a smile on my face to think of how he used to pick on us Bowman girls, always joking and making us laugh. My heart aches for each of his family members. Stand strong and hold tight to each other. God Bless! Love and Hugs!

Through well over 35 years, I have known Al. Although in and out quickly, in my business, over the years, doing his job in sales, Al always had a minute to say a kind word to me, personally, and most times ask about me when I was not there. He obviously saw many things in the retail business, good and bad, and never had a bad comment about any of the thousands of clients He had. He was a valued asset to his employer, and to his competition, never a negative comment, and an asset and good friend to his customers. He will be missed by me and many others in the trade. Rest in peace, Buddy.
