On June 10, 2018, Douglas M. Vaughan Sr., a resident of Creedmoor, went to his heavenly home prepared for him. He was born September 7, 1935.
Douglas served his country as a Marine and is a Korean War era veteran. He retired from the Federal Correctional Institute in Butner as the Facility Manager. He also served as the Maintenance Director for Granville County Schools.     
He is survived by two sons, Douglas M. Vaughan Jr. and wife Lori H. Vaughan of Wilton and Michael S. Vaughan and wife Tammy N. Vaughan. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Alysia E. Vindigni, Sarah D. Vaughan and Bryan D. Slaughter and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty T. Vaughan.
A memorial service will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church in Creedmoor on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. by the Rev. Buddy Ritter. Burial will be private at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg Va.
