For 14 years we have missed you. We have missed your smile, your humor, your favorite sayings and your many nicknames. You had a special knack for that. You live on through your sons in that way. You helped raise them well. You would be very proud of all your family. We simply miss you.

You were on my mind first thing this morning. I'm not sure how we've gone so many years without you, but there is still so much of you left here on earth. I have the privilege of calling this amazing man my Grandpa. He was not only a caring, gentle, loving person but he was also one of the strongest men I have ever encountered. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather...but was also a very proud veteran. Happy Veterans Day to you in heaven Grandpa.
