Our families go way back
The Yue and Tsai families have known each other since 1948, when Jeff's father Dr. W.Y. Yue and my father Dr. S.H. Tsai were in medical training together at the Glen Lake Sanatorium.
The following story came from my mother, who got it from Jeff's mother Nadine. When Jeff was 3 or 4 years old, he remarked to someone he didn't know: "Lady, I like your hat." Thus, we can see that even an early age, Jeff already had excellent people skills.
I remember that our families spent Christmas Eve 1962 together at the Yue home in Deephaven. Jeff must have been around 3 at the time, and to keep him occupied while guests were present, Nadine gave him an early Christmas present of a Firebird 99. If you're not familiar with it, the Firebird 99 by Remco was a toy plastic battery-powered dashboard with a steering wheel and a windshield wiper that went back and forth (that's what the battery was for). You can find it on Google. Jeff was giving it a pretty good workout. I don't think he broke it, but it did keep him occupied.
