~ We will for forever remember you - Committee of Friends ~
Dr. Philip Iyiola Abiola - Fellow Royal College of Physicians-UK
When the news got to me yesterday morning, it was unbelievable. Philip how very quiet you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint your footprints have left upon our hearts. Philip was a Good Jolly Fellow, man of high ethics and integrity. It's with sadness that we lost one of our rare gem, he was one of us that we acknowledge with desolation that he was exceptional. Philip was inimitable, easygoing, gentle soul, a born leader.
He was very forthright, classy and matchless. He was truly a one off, irreplaceable in every sense and all senses that make sense. The family of FRIENDS despondency and grief know no bounds because Philip was a unique gift from God to humanity that we loved so much.He was a very brave warrior who was never scared of death.
PHILIP can be proud of the obvious fact that he stood for something while here on earth with us. He was a great Nigeria patriot endowed it's nostalgic memory there in, he never shied away from any difficult national issue or task and he always exhibit uncommon and unparalleled courage in contributing his quotas and always volunteer whenever it mattered most. He so much wanted a better Nigeria for all of us.
PHILIP had a hugely successful and unblemished career in international business and he used his talent to make a huge difference wherever he found himself, giving many Nigerian and non-Nigerian a strong voice to be proud of. I know it is never about how long one lives but how well and I do believe that while it is good to have an end to the journey, this one gone so soon.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal, although it's difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may looking back in memory of Philip help comfort us tomorrow. I commensurate with his immediate family, loving wife and beautiful children Philip left behind and pray fervently that God in his infinitive mercy grant them fortitude and strength to carry on.
To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.And as you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heaven. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower, you will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind. You don't get over it, you just get through it.You don't get by it, because you can't get around it.It doesn't get better; it just gets different.
Everyday....…Grief puts on a new face. You will be missed.
Adieu Ile-Ife Patriot!!!
Adieu Good Soldier!!!
DEATH CANNOT KILL WHAT NEVER DIES.

Dr Phillip Abiola is a Macmillan GP and the clinical cancer lead in Newham CCG. He has been a GP, working in London, for 16 years and is passionate about promoting early diagnosis and cancer screening as well as raising awareness of cardiovascular diseases in the black community including regular appearances as a media medic on African Caribbean TV.
Dr. Philip AbiolaTell us about Public Health England’s most recent Be Clear on Cancer campaign
The current campaign urges people to see a GP if they have breathlessness or a persistent cough, as these are key symptoms of lung cancer, heart disease and lung disease which cause more than 150,000 deaths in England each year. We really want to encourage people with either of these symptoms to visit their GP without delay, as earlier diagnosis makes the conditions more treatable.
