ForeverMissed

Our mother’s wake and last farewell mass ended yesterday with her inurnment. It was a difficult week for the family but as we listened to many people who told moving life stories of how Mommy mentored them, healed them, taught them and touched their lives in the most profound way our grief diminished and in its place joy took root.

We felt that many who came were moved by their great love for mommy and just could not help but share and honor her memory by telling their stories.

We thank them for it. We will treasure the stories for a lifetime.
Mom is now home, with His face shining upon her. No more pain. She is with her Heavenly Father, her Lord, her all in all, the One  who loves her most.
We created this website for those who wish to share more stories or photos about Mom. We hope that Dad will fill the lonely days ahead reading your stories. Our family hope to laugh and cry with you as we pour through your  photos and posts.

Thank you for loving our Mom.

I'm so speechless to find out (only now) that Dr. Limson passed away last year.
I still remember almost 18 years ago, on my 36th week of pregnancy, I was rushed to the hospital and was told by doctors that they cannot detect the heartbeat of my baby. I prayed and cried silently. My ever gracious OB-Onco (Dr. Genara Limson) looked at me and whispered "it's gonna be alright." After few minutes Dr. Limson smiled and said..."the baby is just asking for some attention." So, in my second pregnancy, I felt the comfort and confidence of going through the journey again with her. I will always be grateful to Dr. Limson - despite of difficult and high risk pregnancies, she told the girls "I brought you into this world." May her soul be at peace with our Heavenly Father.

Dra. Genara Limson was my OB Gynae who delivered my daughter in 1988 and my son in 1994 by natural births.
I will always remember a kindhearted lady doctor who warmly consulted with me during all my antenatal appointments.
Her passing saddened the whole Pascual family.
We will forever be grateful for everything dear Tita Geny.
The pact you made with our Tito Eddie Pascual (RIP), the promise to take good care of his family members... you have well and truly fulfilled in your most humble ways.
Rest up in heaven our lovely Tita Geny.

It is a surprise for me to learn that Dra Genara Limson passed away. I really felt so sad and will dearly miss her. Dra. Limson treated me of my Cervical Cancer Stage 3B Advance way back 2006. She is a very fine lady and will always give me an assurance during my chemo days that all will be fine. Whenever she enters the chemo booth at MMC she has that awesome smile on her face and made me feel so relax. She will touch my hands lovingly, as a mother would do to her sick daughter. After the 3 months treatment at MMC, I regularly visit her in her clinic at Medical City until 2016 and told me that I am very very cleared of my CA. She is one of the best doctor I have ever met. Next to God, I will forever be grateful to her for her expertise in treating CA patients like me. Dra. Limson, we will meet again in heaven. We may have lost a great doctor but heaven gained an angel! Rest in the loving arms of our Lord, Jesus Christ! Until we meet again!

Dr Genara M. Limson gave me four grandchildren.and two great grandkids to a mother she delivered 35 yrs ago. Claudia,4 yrs old would say to u "gracias", Ybarra turning two would say "tekU".Geny, u were 83 when u delivered Ybarra. The 3 of them all CA.We have this beautiful photo of you holding Ybarra in the delivery room . When Yna approached u with her desire to have you take care of her, u looked pleased adding "I can't no to your Lola". Yna told me she felt special every visit.I ask myself "what did I do to deserve TLC treatment from this Rolls Royce Dictora?"-- I met Geny 50-55 yrs ago when she was still living with the older Limsons in Singalong. From then on, she took care of me and my entire family. I remember my bringing karekare to their Merville home, she was delighted, and, noticing my ring, she remarks,"Bien, you have a pretty ring." Geny was generous with compliments. She ends up buying two 2 beautiful rings, much nicer than mine, from my friend. When I visit her in her clinic, we talk about our rings, sharing with me that the round one is with her daughter. This classy, soft spoken lady laughed at my @mababaw" stories. She always made me feel she wanted to stay. I would say "Geny, Sige, bye na, marami ka pang patients". Her reply" Ok Lang Bien, they will wait for me, oh tapos?" Then I would continue and more smiles and soft laughter from her. For me, Geny was great, not because she was a Rolls Royce Doctor. She was great, she had the Gift to make you comfortable . I have been missing you day in, day out from the day I learned of ur passing over.....Dearest Tony, you will be missing dear Geny more n more as the days go by. That's what I learned with Amados passing 9 years ago.. that's life Tony. Take care, enjoy family.. you are the Best! Hope to see you.

I have the rare privilege of being both a “Limson baby” and a “Limson mommy”.

35 years ago, Doc Geny delivered me via emergency CS. Some 30 years later in 2014 when I found out I was carrying my first child, I took the chance and visited the clinic hoping that she would still agree to take me on as a patient. By then I heard she was already practicing mostly in gynecologic oncology. And yet, I was so fortunate that she still agreed to take care of me. Every visit to her clinic was a reminder of how fortunate I was being the only pregnant person amongst her queue of patients. To add to that, she even attended to my emergency CS- something unexpected because it was night time and I was pretty sure she was already home by then. Two years later in 2017, I again fell pregnant and still to my surprise, she agreed to take care of me.

Apart from myself, Doc Geny’s ties with the ladies in my family go a very long way. From my grandmother’s hysterectomy, to my mom and aunt’s pregnancies, she took care of all of us. She made her indelible mark on my family in a way only she could.

But apart from the medical expertise, it was her character that I will remember the most. The little talks we had during each monthly/weekly visit, how she would laugh at a few jokes, assuring me not to worry too much, allowing me to indulge in sashimi (while most articles claimed not to) with the caveat as long as it came from “a reputable source”, and doing wonders for my self-esteem. At the time I felt like a cow, gaining so much weight carrying a giant belly, she would remark at my beauty and how well I dressed. In many ways, I viewed her not only as my doctor, but as my “tita” of sorts.

It truly broke my heart to hear about Doc Geny’s passing only today. Everything I live for today is because I am a mother and she was crucial in bringing that dream of mine into fruition. I will forever be thankful and will never forget. As one my doctors said, I am one of the few who can say that I was taken care of by “THE Rolls Royce of OB Gyns”.

Thank you, Doc. You’ll always be in my heart.

Just wanted to find out where I could visit Dra. Genara Limson, only to find out that she had just passed away. I will forever be grateful to her for delivering my two sons by cesarean who are now happily raising their own families. I had very difficult five pregnancies and after three miscarriages, I thought I wouldn’t have children anymore, but Dra. Limson never gave up on me. Rest in peace in God’s bosom, Dra. Limson. You have done your work on earth with flying colors!

Dra. Limson saved my life back in 2001 when she performed emergency surgery by removing a mass that later turned out to be malignant (CA stage 1A). She told me not to worry as the tumor was contained and that I didn't need radiation or chemotherapy. Nonetheless, I sought a second opinion from the leading oncology center in Singapore. Not only did the doctor vet what Dra. Limson said, she actually revealed that she had only seen a couple of cases similar to mine, while Dra. Limson had much more experience--more patients--with the same case.

For the next 15 years (even as I had moved out of the country), I would come home to see her if there was anything out of the ordinary about my reproductive system. She and her assistant were always so kind and motherly.

I was saddened to find out only last night that she had passed on. I mourn her passing. She was truly the best of the best. I will miss her. May she rest in heavenly peace.

To her family - thank you for sharing her with us and for allowing her to make a difference in our lives. I pray that you find comfort and strength at this most difficult time.

I would like yo thank Dra. Limson for delivering my two babies in 1991 and 1998. I was working in CityTrust then and by word of mouth i came to know that she was a very good gynecologist.  I was told that some nurses were afraid to assist her in the OR because she was strict. But many years have passed I still appreciate that the caesarean operations she performed on me were quick and so was my recovery. It was my daughter whom she delivered in 1991 who informed me that she had passed on.

Dr Limson will always remind me that when God closes a window, He will open a door for you. For after having a career disappointment 9 years prior, she invited me back to the Department in 1997. Soon after I joined the dept, her marching order was to help the residents in research. And so I did with her as inspiration.  Once we were already seated at a restaurant to celebrate a win, we called her to tell the good news. Though she just arrived from a foreign travel and most likely tired, she insisted on joining us  (and of course to foot the bill). That was Dra Limson. She expected a lot from us but will give much more in return.
I can never thank you enough ma'am. You are one of God's miracles; I was and will forever be in awe.

Dra Limson was my teacher in PGH and later became my colleague in MMC. I admire her professionalism, superb work ethic, strictness, and the fair way she treated everyone. Even though I was intimidated by her during my residency years, I understood perfectly well that she was strict (and sometimes indignant!) with the residents because she wanted patients to be managed in the best way possible, and she wanted us to always do our best. I also loved the way she rolled her rrr's whenever she was angry!
