My dear friend Dr Nkem Ezeilo has gone on to be with the lord. I now realise why you were unable to return my call but did not dare think that you were fighting your last struggle.
You were a beautiful person, so giving from the first day we met at a mutual friends wedding in London all those years ago, when you were just about to start your GP training. In the intervening years we kept in touch and I witnessed your many public and private accolades.
Your 'joi de vive' and the will to give back in the face of adversity was truly inspirational. Rest well my dear friend and sister rest well. You fought a good fight <3

Monday 12th September 2016 I woke up to the sad news that you were no longer with us and you had lost your fight to cancer. So many memories flooded back for me and I thought of all the amazing things you did for me and my family. I saw you as a GP before I became pregnant and we've stayed in contact ever since. I was suffering so badly in December 2014 with post-natal depression and anxiety and out of the blue you messaged me sensing there was something not quite right. In January I attempted to go on a family holiday with my then, 4 month old son to Wales. I shouldn't of really gone but you helped me all week with your telephone calls and messages, (even at 6am in the morning). I swear to this day I wouldn't have seen that holiday through or maybe even survived if it hadn't have been for you. Your compassion, inspiration, determination and positivity I will never forget. The way you called my thinking 'stinkin thinkin', the advice you gave me to watch 'A Beautiful Mind', the way you always used capital letters to empathise what you were trying to say to me, (and I always thought you were telling me off), the way you got me to slow my breathing down via a message, the ideas of thought diaries, a daily gratitude journal and listening to Pharrell's 'Happy' song. I could go on dear Nkem... I'm looking back at the messages now crying and feeling so grateful that you came into my life. You are and always will be a wonderful woman Nkem and the sky has another angel. I look to the sky and find the brightest star shining... I believe that star is you looking down on us saying 'you can do this, believe in yourself girl'. I just found this bit of the message:-
Joanne McClaren: 'Are you my guardian angel?'
Nkem Ezeilo: 'Feeling emotional is ok. Just be in control about it is all. Yes I am. Nobody comes into my life 'by coincidence'. You were meant to cross my path in MK.'
All my love and eternal gratitude.
Rest in Peace Angel

William sends his love and thanks you for saving his mummy. xxx

How you should remember Dr Nkem

September 14, 2016
*Fortunately, Dr Nkem Ezeilo has passed on. No more pain, no more cancer. The faithful sister has transited to meet our Lord. For over one year she lived to be a symbol of life. Being diagnosed with cancer, she became even more inspiring. Using her journey to teach anyone and whoever wanted to listen, how to live a healthy lifestyle through simple living, natural organic eating, keeping positive mindset and taking action for your life in general. Dr Nkem lived for so many things and meant so many different things in the life of alot of people. She is not perfect of course. But she lived a life worth celebrating. She never gives up nor give in. She doesn’t want any pity and wouldn’t like anyone thinking she lost to cancer or that cancer has won the battle. In the first place, she wasn’t fighting a battle with any cancer.  As she will put it, she was diagnosed with cancer and she lived above that diagnosis for over a year. She went through a lot of pain but did not succumb to it. In the midst of  her journey, she dropped a blueprint for you to learn from. In the last 3 weeks we have been planning on her next book, a photoshoot and and that she wants to teach you and I from her journey with cancer. Which she called a learning phase where she had graduated on another level. Dr Nkem was very optimistic and reassured us all that she will be back doing what she does best .   Dr Nkem Ezeilo, MBBS, Dip.Performance Coaching, MRCGP is a wholistic General Practitioner and a mother, a sister and a daugther. She has been a student of Personal Development and the power of the mind in creating success in any area of life.
The image used here is the image she wants you to have of her not that of illness or defeat and know that she has finished her tenancy here and inevitably mandated to meet our Lord who sshe calls Father.  It’s not time to cry, but time to thank God for her life, time to reflect on our own lives and time to also put in practise what she has been teaching. She wants everyone to know that healthy lifestyle, positive thinking and love is all that you need to excel in any area of life. We will update you on any relevant ifnormation as it comes. Meanwhile continue to keep her in your thanksgiving prayers.  May her beautiful soul rest in the Lord Amen. Note: I have used fortunate purposely. There is nothing unfortunate about Dr Nkem’s journey. She wants positivity around her and her legacy is just that. She says, “Everything happens for a reason and you must always learn from that reason.” She lived her life teaching and her life is a lesson all through. So now that her job here is over, she’s gone to rest with the Lord.
