Today has been 18 years that you've been gone! I miss you , so much dad!!! I so wish you where here with us...enjoying those 3 grand-youngin' of yours. Your grandson Caleb looks so much like you , back in your younger days as a young boy.
A memory I have of Dad I was about maybe 5 or 6 ( not much older) it was a Friday afternoon. Heading to Nichols, Ny to "Great American" to get our weekly grocies. Mom, and Frannie Baldwin was riding up front, I sitting in backseat. Well I was gassy, let a silent but deadly fart. Dad gagged and puked. Turned the car around went back home change his clothes..
looked at me as we all where getting back into the car to head out yet again to store. Said to me ...shaking his finger. Young lady if you let another bomb like that last one...I will pull over you will be walking your bomb butt home. Mean time mom & Frannie where busting a gut laughing. Dad turns to them, Ask you 2 ladies think that was funny, I don't!! lol
I was about maybe 7 or 8 years old. We where coming back from Red Rock visiting my older brother John. Mom, Dad, Me, Aunt Annie, Fred Lattimer decide to stop in Towanda at Pudgies for a bite to eat. ( Back when they had the fold down seats) Well dad brought us our meal, I held down the seat for him, got up to go get us napkins and what not. When he came back to sit down He thought I had
held down the seat for him again. So when he sat this time there was no seat to meet ...he went straight down to the floor.( what can I say...I was eating.) Mom and Annie were laughing, Old Freddie boy he was clapping ,laughing so hard asking can we see a replay in slow motion again. Lets say Dad never again stop in there to eat after that.
Well yesterday was your 17th anniversary of when you had left us Daddy. It was a very ruff day to get thru, but I had made it thru yet again for another yr with-out you. I miss you so much! Sometimes I get so very mad ...ask why did you have to be drafted into Vietnam, for if you never had been drafted into the Army, Then you would still be here today with me.
But I know what you did for our Country, was for our Freedom! I had a very nice surprised visit today from a very dear friend of your's & mine yesterday!! It was Alley Hick's wife Carol, they now live in Virginia...she and her Great Granddaughter was home for a visit. It was so nice to see her again...to hear the memories of you! ♥ I love you Dad ♥
Today would have been your 68th birthday ! If tears could build a staircase to heaven...I would run up them steps and wrap in a big old bear hug and give a million kisses! I love you so very much Daddy & miss you so very much! Counting the days until we are all together again as a family in heaven!! Happy Birthday in Heaven, Daddy !
There isn't a day that goes by,that your thought about and loved dearly! It has been 16 yrs., feels just like I just lost you yesterday.I miss you so very much!
I really got to spend time with Uncle Pete more after he was first diagnosed with cancer. He was always a hard working man. I still smile when I think of how he got mud all over Aunt Elsie's nice clean floor. She threw him out the back door & wouldn't let him back in! :)too cute
