Biograhpy of Late Duncan Motoma (BATOBA)

He was born at the Bota Annex hospital, Limbe, Cameroon on 5 July 1981 to the family of Aaron Mbongo Motoma and Mary Bakini Epie. Duncan is originally from Bota land village, Limbe. Late Duncan Motaona attended Catholic school Bota during his primary education where he obtained his First School Leaving certificate. He later went to Baptist High School, Great Soppo, Buea to pursue his secondary education.Duncan transfered to Impass High school ,Tiko where he attained his High school diploma.

Duncan traveled to the United State during the new millennium (2000) and lived with his Dad and other siblings in New Jersey. He then moved into his own apartment in Brooklyn, New York were he worked full time. Duncan decided to hit the west coast ( California) with the dream of attending community college to study accounting. He leaves behind his younger siblings( Hellen Mbongo Evande, Valentine Effoe Essombi, Enanga Mbongo Motoma, and Emerson Che Epie), Dad and his Mother back home whom he always talked about. His uncles Mr Kenneth Eyabi Epie, Mr Augustine Dibbo Epie and Mr Peter Mbongo Motoma were present to help  Duncan achieve his goals all through his life.

As a young man full of energy and love for his community, Duncan was an active member of CAMSOLA( cameroon soccer Los Angeles) and social club in the Los Angeles region. He played for this club and was one of the club's  best player.

"BATOBA" as he was known by his peers and other Cameroonians was a lover of African music. He danced coupe decale, makossa( petit pay, Hugo Nyame ect), Bikutsi and Naija R n B from party to after hours party.

His soft spoken and respectful nature coupled with his love for family, friend, community building and evolution, earned him the love and respect from the various groups he was involved with till his death.

On June 16,2012, Duncan Motoma passed away, as a victim to gun shots. His remains will be transported to his native Bota-land village for burial. May our Lord almighty who is the light and salvation of the world grant him eternal rest in his kingdom.
